
The Science of Bullet Physics in Warzone
In Call of Duty: Warzone, ballistic projectiles are not simple hitscan raycasts. Every bullet fired possesses defined mathematical properties: muzzle velocity (m/s), bullet drop coefficient, air drag, and damage falloff curves calculated tick-by-tick across the server network.
How RICOCHET "Clobbers" Cheater Projectiles
When Activision server-side telemetry algorithms achieve high statistical confidence of aimbot or silent-aim exploitation, the server activates Trajectory Clobbering:
- Instant Velocity Suppression: The server reduces the cheater projectile muzzle velocity by 95% (e.g., from 900 m/s to 45 m/s).
- Gravitational Arc Exaggeration: Bullet drop gravity multipliers are scaled by 50x, causing sniper shots to nose-dive directly into the dirt a few meters in front of the rifle barrel.
- Damage Value Zeroing: Even if a stray projectile touches a player model, the server calculates
FinalDamage = 0.
Why Cheaters Cannot Detect the Nerf Client-Side
On the cheater local monitor, the game client renders bullet tracers appearing to fly normally toward the target crosshair. However, because hit registration is 100% server-authoritative, no hitmarkers or damage ticks ever register on the target.
