PRIVACY PROTOCOL
Last updated: June 2026 — DCIPCHECK / DC Security Lab
1. Who We Are
DCIPCHECK (dcipcheck.com) is a free IP address lookup tool operated by DC Security Lab, accessible at https://dcipcheck.com. For privacy-related inquiries, contact us at secure@dcipcheck.com.
2. What Data We Collect
DCIPCHECK is designed with minimal data collection as a core principle:
- IP Address (transient): Your public IP is read from request headers to power the lookup tool. It is not stored, logged, or retained after the response is sent.
- Geolocation data: Approximate location (country, region, city) is fetched from third-party APIs (ipapi.co, ipwhois.app) and returned directly to you. We do not store this data.
- Contact form submissions: If you use the contact form, your name, email address, and message are forwarded to our support email via formsubmit.co. We retain this only as long as necessary to respond.
- Analytics cookies (optional): Only set if you accept cookie consent. Handled by Google Analytics/Tag Manager.
- Advertising cookies (optional): Google AdSense may set cookies for ad personalization only after you grant consent.
3. Cookie Policy
We use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: Session state required for the tool to function. No consent required.
- Analytics (opt-in): Google Analytics, enabled only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. Tracks aggregate usage statistics.
- Advertising (opt-in): Google AdSense DoubleClick cookies, enabled only after consent. Used to serve relevant ads and limit ad frequency.
You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or by contacting us.
4. Third-Party Services
- ipapi.co — IP geolocation. Subject to their privacy policy.
- ipwhois.app — IP geolocation fallback. Subject to their privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — Advertising. Subject to Google's privacy policy. For more information see the AdSense privacy FAQ.
- formsubmit.co — Contact form forwarding. Subject to their privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — Font delivery. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
- IP lookups: Not stored — zero retention.
- Contact form messages: Retained for up to 90 days to handle your inquiry, then deleted.
- Analytics data: Retained per Google Analytics default settings (26 months), only if consent was given.
- Cookie consent preference: Stored locally in your browser (
localStorage). Not transmitted to our servers.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & LGPD)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Brazil, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD):
- Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to Object: Object to processing of your data for direct marketing or legitimate interest purposes.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for cookies at any time without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at secure@dcipcheck.com. We will respond within 30 days. Since we store no IP addresses, most requests will be fulfilled immediately.
7. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data under the following legal bases:
- Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Providing the IP lookup service and securing our platform.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): Analytics and advertising cookies, collected via the cookie consent banner.
- Contract performance: Processing contact form submissions to respond to your inquiry.
8. Security
DCIPCHECK uses HTTPS (TLS) for all data in transit, HTTP security headers (CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options), and rate limiting on API endpoints. We follow industry-standard practices to protect the data we transiently handle.
9. Children's Privacy
DCIPCHECK does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has submitted personal data via our contact form, please contact us immediately at secure@dcipcheck.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
