The Psychological Warfare of Modern Anti-Cheat Systems
In Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision shifted from silent shadowbans to public humiliation through real-time physics and weapon overrides collectively known as RICOCHET In-Game Mitigations.
The Mechanics of "Splat" and "Disarm"
- Splat (Velocity Override): If a player is flagged for extreme aim-locking or unauthorized memory access while dropping into the map, the server secretly cuts their parachute strings. If they have already landed, the next jump multiplies their fall velocity by 10,000%, instantly turning a standard hop into a fatal crash.
- Disarm (Weapon Stripping): The server-side inventory manager strips the cheater weapons, sidearms, and lethal equipment mid-fight, leaving them with only bare fists against armed squads.
- Quixotic Damage Scaling: Cheaters firing at legitimate players have their bullet damage reduced to zero, while legitimate player bullets hit with normal lethality.
Why Server-Side Physics Cannot Be Bypassed
Because player movement and damage calculations are validated on Activision dedicated server clusters rather than the client PC, a cheater cannot use local memory cheats to prevent Splat or force parachute re-deployment.
